Next iPod Touch To Get Camera Included?
There are a lot of rumors about the next generation iPhone and no one is enthusiastic about the iPod touch. But Apple seems to be working on the iPod simultaneously. In a job posting last month on Apple’s job site, Apple published that they need a Camera Project Manager for iPhone and iPod Touch saying:
The iPhone Engineering Group is looking for a Camera Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to drive the design, development and integration of camera modules across iPhone and iPod. The EPM is the interface between our internal engineering teams and the suppliers of sensors, lenses and camera modules.
I agree that just a job posting cannot be a proof of Apple’s plans to include a camera in iPod and the wordings can be inserted mistakenly but I argue that it is very less likely to include such words when they have no background. People use to omit words mistakenly not to include!
However the words “and iPod” were later removed from the job posting. It might be because apple doesn’t want to expose its future plans too soon. But it is very much likely that the person who posted the job knew that Apple has to deploy the engineers for both iPhone and iPod.
Whether it is going to happen or not, it is needed. An iPod touch with camera included and a video capturing capability will really be another amazing product. But this thing might bring a drop in the sales of next version of iPhone.
