I am what my friends call me, a “greeny” (a.k.a Environmentalist).  My kind’s goal is to do two basic things; conserve energy and making our earth look pretty. But there is a dilemma for me and I know I am not alone, I love music!  How in the world can I enjoy my hours upon hours of music enjoyment while conserving energy?  Everyone, meet Pekka Salokannel’s Gramo Speaker.  The speaker is a solar-powered music making machine!  Inspired by the old school phonograph, the Gramo can be connected to your laptop or brought along with you to those boring family picnics (just attach it to your mp3 player).  You may ask, “What about the power on this solar doohickey?”   The Gramo Speaker is powered with three layers of powerful photovoltaic panels and has its own built-in internal battery pack.

The real winner is how portable it is. Just fold the speakers flat and BAM, slide it into your pocket.  You are probably wondering where to obtain this futuristic speaker.  As of now it is only a concept. Not yet being produced for US consumers. For now we must wait. Wait like a 5 year old on X-Mas eve.
