Snow Leopard To Bring Many Changes To Mac OS X
Apple’s Snow leopard is going have a lot of features added and there are a lot of things that are going to change. There had been assumptions and rumors but now we have something genuine. (Might be?!) Apple insider, referring to a guy insoder1974, points out a flickr photostream with screenshots of Snow leopard. According to AppleInsider, he’s a “tester” no more details about the credibility of the guy though! Most of the changes which inewton1974 has pointed out relate to the interface. He’s been unable to point out main functioality changes or performance enhancements, yet it’s cool to know what we will see in Snow Leopard.
1) A new pane is introduced which gives OS X text substitution built right in. It might be an enhancement or you may say an alternative to TextExpander or TypeItForMe. You can also see the all new preferences for spelling, word break, and smart quotes.
2) In general security preferences pane you can notice two changes, you can now adjust the time interval between when the Mac goes to sleep or screen saver and when the password is required to unlock it. Meaning you could set it to only require the password to wake the computer after it has been asleep for more than 30 minutes, for instance. And the other one is that you can disable Location Services, if you don’t want your Mac to provide you location based services like auto time zone selection, which is itself new in Snow Leopard.
4) The keyboard shortcuts settings pane is completely overhauled, now it appears in a clean manner. Previously it was a clutter of checkboxes.
6) There’s an interesting addition to iCal. You can now add an Exchange 2007 account too!
We hope there will be some enhancements in overall look and feel of Mac OS X. QuickTime is appearing in a blackish look, whole Mac interface may get this interface, but nothing can be said with conformity yet!
