Video: Unlock iPhone OS 3.0

iPhone dev team had announced to release an upgraded version of YelloSn0w to unlock iPhone OS 3.0 and there had been a lot of hype for it. Finally they have release ultrasn0w, so you can unlock you iPhone OS 3.0 now! But there is a point of attention, Saad Hamid of Sizlopedia.com has successfully unlocked his iPhone through ultrasn0w but he warns that ultrasn0w is not recommended for the iPhones that were not already unlocked via yellowsn0w also he doesn’t recommend to try ultrasn0w on your iPhone 3GS. Have a look at his post here. Now we’ll have to wait for something to unlock our iPhone 3GS, lets see what iPhone dev team brings for us!

So here’s the guide to unlock your upgraded iPhone OS 3.0:

1. Ensure you have upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0 (Detailed Guide here)
2. Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using redsn0w or PwnageTool. This will also install Cydia/Icy. (Detailed Guide here)
3. Run Cydia or Icy
4. Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or icy
5. Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
6. Reboot your iPhone 3G
7. T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
8. Enjoy
