HP = Hazardous Products??
GreenPeace, an NGO working for the greener world protested against HP in a unique way. At least ten workers of the NGO, climbed the roof of the HP headquarters, bypassing the security and wrote in huge big letters “Hazardous Products”. According the NGO, they painted it with non-toxic children figer-paint and the message covered about 11,500 sq. ft.
According to the reports, HP has backtracked its public commitment to eliminate key toxic elements in its products by the end of this year.
HP rivals such as Apple, Dell and Lenovo have better green compliance. Specially Apple gadgets are now PVC and BFR free.
HP, on the other hand doesn’t seem to have any plans to go green. “The nonconstructive antics at HP’s headquarters today did nothing to advance the goals that all who care about the environment share,” said an HP spokesperson in a statement. “HP will continue its efforts to develop new products and programs around the globe that help the company, its business partners and customers conserve energy, reduce materials use and reduce waste through responsible reuse and recycling.”
Update:By the way, HP! Why don’t you go for something innovative that can be green too? Like the Paper Laptop which is just conceptualized!
