Motorola Cliq Gets Rooted [How To Guide]

Motorola Cliq is late in the game of rooting but it has just been successfully rooted. Later arrivals got rooted earlier but well you can now root your Motorola Cliq. Here is the step by step guide on how to do it for yourself.

Step 1. Download Drivers from Motorola.com

Motorola 4.2.0 Driver with MotoConnect* (for 32-bit versions of Windows®)
Motorola 4.2.0 Driver with MotoConnect* (for 64-bit versions of Windows®)

Step 2. Google RSD-Lite 4.5.7 and download and install it. 4.5.7 or higher REQUIRED

Step 3. Download shx file here at androidspin.com and unzip it.

Step 4. After you have installed the drivers and RSD Lite. Run RSD-Lite and select the shx file you unzipped, select the phone and cliq start. Your phone should reboot into bootloader and apply the flash. It will then reboot again into your SetupWizard.

Step 5. Once in you’ll need to run the following from adb

adb remount
adb shell chmod 4755 /system/bin/su

To fix Superuser do this for now, download, extract, run the .sh or the .bat.. Good to go
