Myself I have been anxious for Google to get street view in Germany. My ancestors came from there, I am disabled, and can't travel even if I had the money to. I will never go there but with street view in Germany I can drive through the towns my family once lived in. I understand the privacy issue thing but I love the tool anyway.

They came through my town and caught my house at it's worst. Instead of being a victim we worked all last summer, my wife that is, and cleaned it up. We did not ask google to take the images down. We use them for inspiration instead. Whenever we fell like not doing anything we go to street view and look at how things were and remind ourselves not to let it get that way again..
