iPad Has Killed The Netbooks, Already?

A study shows that 30% of netbook fans abandoned their plans to buy an iPad. Growing iPad sales might drive netbooks to non-existence in near future.

A data is collected from a sample of 1,000 people including males, females, youngs and adults to know the netbook and iPad trends. Here’s the result:

Though 30% of them went ahead and bought an iPad instead of a netbook but 70% percent didn’t. There are a lot of factors which these studies cannot consider. So let’s do our own maths.

• 54% people wanted a netbook because of portability. iPad is portable and pretty much beats netbooks in this regard. Well, if 30% bought the iPad because it’s ultra portable, only24% didn’t!
• 20% needed a netbook because of lower prices and here’s the point where iPad lacks behind. Did I say iPad prices are incompetent? Obviously no. None of these guys won’t have gone for an iPad because it’s slightly costly than an average laptop. So, don’t count them as non-buyers. “O God! I so want the iPad but heck I can’t afford one!”. So add these 20% and iPad has 50% in it’s crew.
• 19% think that netbooks have longer lasting battery. Again iPad beats netbooks with a 10+ hour battery life. If a battery life is really a thing, then they bought a netbook by mistake or by getting ditched by marketing or because a friend told ‘em. So they should have bought an iPad instead. This makes 50%+19% = 69% in the iPad crew!
• 7% don’t even know why the heck did they buy a netbook. “I donno, my friend had one, so I thought why not me”. Now that most of their friends have an iPad, “Dammit! Why the heck did I not buy an iPad instead!!”. Add these 7% too! 69% + 7 % = 74%!

Here you go! 74% netbook lovers are iPad buyers! Pure win! Come on Retrevo, reconsider your stats! ;)

By the way, I have a netbook and I am going to buy the iPad next month. Sorry, netbooks, you are not the real thing!
