Update Regarding Froyo on HTC EVO 4G
HTC EVO 4G is making sales records. Congrats to all those folks who have the EVO already. The first thing you guys most probably look for is the Froyo on the EVO. I see a lot of users drop by our initial post regarding the Froyo port for HTC EVO 4G. We had promised to post a detailed how-to guide which is not up yet. Folks, that’s not because of us at all. In fact XDA guys are still working on the full port. There’s some stuff working and some not. Only a test ROM has been posted for now.
Here’s what works:
- Basic Android Froyo
- Super User / Root
- Data
- Phone
- Hardware 3D Acceleration
Here’s what doesn’t work yet:
- Camera
- 4G
- MMS
Also the ROM posted up to now is developer-only without any maintenance, updates or fixes.
We are waiting for a stable HTC EVO 4G Froyo ROM and won’t post anything premature. However if you feel adventurous and want Froyo right away, you can follow this XDA thread. For all other ordinary folks, just wait!
