We had heard that Froyo might be rolling out to Droid X in August. We have already seen a Droid X running Froyo but there was no official statement up to now. We had a hope after seeing this Droid X that Froyo roll out might have started already but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. It now seems that Motorola has officially announced the Froyo roll out date for Droid X.
Droid X Froyo Date Announced
In a corporate discussion forum, a Motorola employee has told that the Froyo will start rolling out by early september and will fix the Exchange 2003 notification problem among others. Here’s his statement:
Some Droid X users are experiencing an issue using Exchange 2003 email. Though the email is arriving on the Droid X, no notifications are appearing. A fix for this will be included in the upgrade to Android 2.2 scheduled for deployment by early September.
Emphasis put by him, not us. So it’s an official statement obviously. It’s not too late from the rumored August date. Droid X users can’t wait though, you know!
