HTC Evo 3D Release Date Confirmed

Radio Shack Flyer

The guys over at Phandroid have dug up a Radio Shack flyer promoting the HTC EVO 3D.  We had an earlier report that announced a late June release date for the much-anticipated 3D smartphone, and that was correct.  The date on the flyer indicates June 24th for the official release.  Sprint also had a press release about the new phone yesterday, so things are really heating up around this device.  Radio Shack has been taking preorders for the device for about a week now, and offering a trade-in credit if you swap an old EVO or EVO Shift for the new 3D, but that promotion comes to an end on June 23rd.  That seems to further confirm the release date.

The EVO 3D is the first smartphone to feature glasses-free 3D technology.  It works using what’s called a paralax barrier, but it’s pretty much been dismissed as a gimmick thus far.  Can the EVO 3D change people’s perceptions about 3D on mobile devices?  What do you think?  Will you be getting an EVO 3D?  Do you believe 3D mobile devices are just fads, or will the technology become something standard?
