iPhone 5 mockup
Bloomberg today reports that two people “familiar with the plans” have told them that Apple does intend to release a new iPhone, and that release will come in September as expected. We told your yesterday about a possible August press event, at which Apple would announce a new iPhone. That still seems possible, as it would then give a month to build the hype before the device’s release. The new model, according to Bloomberg’s sources, will have the A5 processor, the same chip as the iPad 2, and a bump up to an 8-megapixel camera. That would put it on par with all the other high-end phones out this year.
The tipsters asked to remain anonymous, as this information is not public yet. And maybe because Mr. Jobs would do terrible things to them if they were found out? They also informed Bloomberg that Apple is testing a new iPad with a higher resolution screen, similar to that used in the iPhone 4. The new phone would run iOS 5, which debuted at WWDC just recently.
