How To: Save A Phone Which Was Dropped In Water

As we are entering Summer probably many phones will be dropped in the sea or in a glass, or even most of you have dropped a phone in water or in the sea, and didn’t know what to do after you realized that it is all wet. Below is a how-to save you mobile phone if you dropped it in water.
- The most important thing to not do after you’ve dropped it, is not to try turn it on , as probably you will make the damage ten times worse due to short circuiting the phone even more. So whatever you do , do not try to turn on the phone after it has been wet or anything.
- Pull out an parts that can be pulled out, example the battery , sim card and memory card. This is because as long as the battery is in there it will be still providing power to the phone and that will need to be stopped immediately. P.S: if you have an iPhone you cannot pull out the battery, then just skip this step.
- If you dropped your phone in salty water , rinse the phone by putting it into fresh water for a little to rinse it, as the salty water may corrode the phone.
- Dry your phone with a compressed air can or a vacuum cleaner, as it is really powerful and can go into small areas. Run it full blast around the whole body of the phone, without the back cover of course. You can use anything that throws air , as long as you dry the circuits immediately. IMP= dont put your phone in an oven or anything that throws hot air out e.g. a hair dryer as it may melt or even explode the circuits.
- Lastly put your phone into rice(Any type of rice, white or brown) as the dry grains will absorb all the moisture in. Get a sealable container and fill it up with rice , enough to cover the whole phone. After put the phone into the the container and seal the seal. You must leave it for at least 24 hours or even more. Also silica gel will do and it is more powerful than rice. but most of us dont have a whole box full of silica gel.
Lastly try turn on your phone and see if it works , you have bout 50% chance of saving you device, which is better than nothing. Also note that if your drop your phone quite a bit in water you would be better off getting a waterproof phone.
