G+ widget for Tablets

You may be familiar with a little thing called Ice Cream Sandwich.  That’s the next big thing from Google, which will combine the tablet and phone Android systems into one big gooey mess of sweetness.  Unfortunately, you’ve probably also heard that we’re going to have to wait a little longer to get an official look at the new software.  You can however get some Ice Cream Sandwich love in a couple of ways.  You can get an unofficial look at some screen shots and a video walkthru of the Galaxy Nexus/Nexus Prime.  Or, if you’re on Google +, you can download this new leaked Google + 2.0 app designed for Ice Cream Sandwich, courtesy of Android Police!  It should be noted that this is a beta version, and a few bugs have popped up.  The widget does not work on phones, only tablets.  Also, some folks have reported issues when trying to post content publicly, but sharing with circles seems to work fine.

The new Google + app doesn’t offer anything new in the way of functionality, but it does have a nice, slick, new look that’s been polished up in many much-needed ways.  We’ll show you some screen from AP that compare that two apps, old and new, side-by-side so you can get a good idea of what’s changed.  The biggest thing here is Chords, which replaced huddles in the old app.  You can download the new app from the mirrors below.  Just remember to say Thanks to AP and Geek Vundotra.

NOTE:

You must uninstall the old app first.  This cannot be placed on top of it.
